Pride of Place Awards

IPB and Co-operation Ireland Pride of Place Awards is an all-island programme to recognise the wonderful work undertaken by volunteers and local community development groups.  It recognises, and reminds us, that community involvement and creating an inclusive society is for us all to be involved in.

Drogheda and District Support 4 Older People is delighted to have won the Community Age Friendly Initiative award 2023.  Many thanks to the team at the community sector of Louth County Council for all the help given to get us to this point.

The office team was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of the DDS4OP clients and volunteers who make DDS4OP an award-winning service.

It is an honour to be selected for this award, in the company of the best community organisations of the whole island.

Many thanks to IPB Insurance and Co-operation Ireland for these awards, celebrating the wonderful community initiatives, and contributions, being made across the country.

Daffodil Day

Today we delivered some gifts of chocolate and daffodils to lots of older people! We wanted to brighten their day and to celebrate Daffodil Day.

Great work by our wonderful team of volunteers getting fresh Daffodils delivered all over the Drogheda area.

Rest in Peace, Anthony

We are very sad to report the passing of one of our great and dedicated volunteers, Anthony Lynch.

Anthony joined us ten years ago. He was always available, great company, loved the craic and was a truly very kind, caring person. His contribution to our town and its people will forever be remembered, as will his smile and wicked sense of humour. Rest in Peace our dear friend. We are all going to miss you.

Joan McEvoy RIP

Joan McEvoy, one of our most loved and founder member of our organisation, has sadly passed away. Joan was an amazing, funny, kind, enthusiastic, warm and exceptionally caring lady whose drive and commitment is one of the main reasons our charity is where it is today. We will miss you Joan. You will never be forgotten, especially when we eat apple pie!!

SICAP Grant Aid

We would like to say a big thank you to Louth Leader Partnership for its SICAP 2018 Grant Aid.  This grant helped with the setting up of the IT Equipment needed in our new Distribution Centre in Greenhills Industrial Village.

We would also like to thank Noirin for all her help in securing this grant.
